isabel letdown

Terence Chua as a youngster. Cuuuute!

Hurricane Isabel was certainly a letdown in Toronto, after all the media hype. There was some rain briefly here and there, a bit of wind. I was out during the day, hoping to experience part of the storm (running in a leftover hurricane, y'know), but was sadly disappointed.

Edited another chapter of my novel, worked on an article that's due Monday, got a go-ahead from an editor for another article. I haven't needed to use ViaVoice for a couple of days.

I went a bit nuts on my Wacom yesterday and updated the comics for Waiting For Frodo, My Life In A Nutshell, and Inkygirl. If you're on Livejournal and want to be automatically sent any updated comic strips, add "ohi" to your Friends list (or click on the "doodles" link in the lefthand navigation bar on this page). Please note that I don't maintain a Friends list for that Livejournal account; my regular Livejournal is "ohiblather".

Finished writing another Lord of the Rings song, this one called "The Question".

Thanks for all the bread feedback! Looks like I'm not the only fan of San Francisco Sourdough (Andrea, Lissa). :-) I was also reminded of some other types of bread I really like: malt bread, challah, focaccia (JimP, MaryC, Lainiekins), pumpkin (Rand brought me some once). Breads I really want to try after reading various LJ and Blatherchat comments and chatting with people on the Filkhaven IRC: apricot-almond bread (CatF), chocolate chip bread (CatF), Hawaiian bread (BillR), Alfaro's Santa Cruz Extra Sour sourdough (WilliamR), peanut butter (meritmaat), German chocolate bread (DaveW, Colin), Amanda's Snyder's bread, Sweet Batard (Lainiekins).

And of course now I have the urge to take out my breadmaker and bake something. :-)

Links and news

Congrats to Graham Leathers, who is playing a radio announcer and a giant mosquito for the pilot episode of "Sleuth and Sorcery" on CBC!
